Music Review- A Silent Film, The City That Sleeps

A Silent Film is a good band, which if someone offered me a ticket to see I would definitely go.  But as far as an album goes, I begrudging have to say they still have a little ways to go.

I dig the CD, the style, the edge that it maintains while yet seeming somewhat soft and pop-ish with high falsetto's and piano posh.

Their songs don't lack for sound, the intense guitars, fast and at times intense drums.  The songs all do well.

The only problem is they also all somewhat sound the same.

And after eleven tracks of the same thing, even the fan can get a bit nauseated.

The album is essentially only going to be very good if you like this specific style of song, one in which the singer routinely goes for higher notes showing his range.  If not, you don't have a lot else to listen to.

That said, I dig the sound for the most part.

I think they fill a certain spot in a music collection, probably leaning on the softer side of rock.  Closer to the Coldplay side of things but with more guitar, and a less irritating singer.

Here's a couple samples
